When Life Realigns You: Lessons on Authenticity, Intuition, and Letting Go

Life has a way of forcing clarity when we least expect it. In a recent episode of Intentional Tangents with Trina, I opened up about a year that completely reshaped my understanding of relationships, intuition, and self-acceptance. What started as a series of confusing experiences slowly revealed itself as a powerful realignment. Looking back, many of the lessons were things I had sensed intuitively all along. The challenge wasn’t recognizing the truth. The challenge was trusting it sooner.

One of the biggest lessons I learned this year was the importance of allowing people to be exactly where they are. As someone who naturally senses where others are emotionally or energetically, I’ve often felt the urge to help people “level up” into a space where they can live more authentically. The intention may come from love, but the reality is that growth cannot be forced. When we try to guide people somewhere they’re not ready to go, we end up creating misalignment for both of us. Honoring someone’s current place in their journey, even if it means stepping back, is often the most respectful thing we can do.

Another powerful realization came through learning to trust intuitive guidance instead of trying to override it. Throughout the year, I received clear insights about certain connections and situations that were unlikely to unfold the way I hoped. Instead of accepting that guidance, I tried to outmaneuver it through effort and optimism. The result was simple: wasted time, energy, and emotional bandwidth. Intuition is rarely vague. More often than not, we just delay accepting what it’s already telling us.

This period of reflection also led me to a deeply personal discovery. After encountering conversations about women who are diagnosed with autism later in life, I began exploring the possibility that I might be on the spectrum myself. The realization reframed so many moments from my past. Experiences that once felt like personal failures or misunderstandings suddenly made sense through a different lens. It became clear that many of the struggles I had internalized were actually rooted in differences in perception, communication, and social expectations.

Instead of feeling limiting, this understanding became incredibly freeing. It allowed me to release years of self-judgment and reinterpret my life with far more compassion. It also helped me recognize the strengths that come from thinking differently. The ability to see patterns, think in big-picture systems, and connect ideas quickly has shaped every business I’ve built and every creative project I’ve pursued.

At the same time, letting go of misaligned relationships created space for something unexpected: clarity. When you stop pouring energy into connections that aren’t aligned, an enormous amount of bandwidth opens up. That energy can finally return to the things you’re truly here to build, create, and contribute to. For me, that meant refining my businesses, deepening my spiritual work, and getting clear about the impact I want to have through Intuitively Trina.

If there’s one message that carried through this entire year, it’s this: you cannot expect others to truly understand you if you don’t understand yourself first. Authentic alignment begins internally. When you stop masking, overcompensating, or shrinking yourself to maintain connections, the people who resonate with your real energy naturally begin to find you. And when they do, the connection feels effortless in a way that forced alignment never could.
